Meet

A man of two worlds, Richard learns from the past and writes about the future. Dr. Olson grew up training as an athlete, martial artist, and bodybuilder. He loves music and was a professional rock drummer. Richard is an avid reader of Batman comics, books, and Pulp magazines. He is passionate about film de noir black and white movies from the 1930’s and 1940’s, and vintage TV shows.

The kids call him Dr. Batman! A Batcave in his basement supports his nickname. Richard has been a lifelong Batman fan since he was seven years old. Batman is almost believable, he has no superpowers and has to rely on his brain and skills. Also being a Billionaire does not hurt. Batman is the world’s greatest detective.

Richard has a diverse passion for the future and where it leads. To stay green and fresh, he watches movies about Sci-Fi, superheroes, and modern action heroes. He reads mystery and crime adventures from the past and the modern day action thrillers by authors that are New York Time best sellers. Also, Richard listens to and enjoys Audible books of all types.

Another facet for Richard is being outside. He enjoys bicycling, bonfires, golf, hiking, and most of all swimming or anything in, under, or by the water. Everywhere Richard had lived is by the water. He lived on an island in the Mississippi River, on an Illinois River beach, by three different lakes, and near a pond that had frogs the size of ducks. And no, he didn’t croak.

Currently, Richard is a doctor turned author. Dr. Olson has been Chiropractic Physician and Acupuncturist for over thirty years. The author, his wife Angela, their two children and a giant white dog live by twin lakes outside of Peoria, Illinois. Richard was raised in Church and loves God. He also knows that God has a sense of humor, and Richard’s writing proves that.
